I added some news stories (see links to the right), but I get so angry at some of the people who post comments about them. The piece David Martin did on a quad amputee brought out all kinds of war chatter. The soldiers and Marines are visiting these sites to watch the videos. I know this for a fact. And they shouldn't have to read all that crap.
Why can't people just wish them well for the many challenges that lie ahead? They face the rest of their lives battling daily obstacles. They need support and love and encouragement.
Yes, war is hell. But we here at Walter Reed already know that...

The patients at Walter Reed were wounded while defending Americans' right to say anything they damn well please. But it would be nice if those commenting would have the grace to remember that and keep their venom to themselves.
Oddly, I see many of those comments that bugged me have vanished
