A weekend away

I finally got out of Mologne House for a few days. My first trip away since I arrived here last August. I was taken to the eastern shore of Maryland and I went two days without getting in my wheelchair. A huge accomplishment. I guess getting away IS good.

The showers and bath in the house were not accessible so I came back smelly but happier.

Now I'm on a mission. The withdrawal symptoms still pound me at night (insomnia) and in the morning (anxiety), but they are easing some. I took the shuttle to the hospital yesterday, leaving my chair in my room, and walked all day. Last night I had MUSCLE cramps in my right leg. Odd in that there isn't any muscle there. Yet. My knee pounded me last night from climbing on and off that shuttle bus. The drivers stood by in case I fell out the door...

I feel like I'm emerging (or at least peeking out) from a black cloud. I just have to find the strength to keep moving forward.

I'm so happy for you, Moonpie! To quote your quote, "Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.'" Just keep listening to that quiet voice.
