Baby Steps

I had to get up very early today to make it to OT (Occupational Therapy) and work on my arm movement, post-surgery. It was painful, but we discovered last week that I'm losing momentum so must keep moving it from side to side. Typing is an issue, but its turns out it's GOOD therapy. So I'll keep writing.

I walked on my new leg today. I didn't notice any difference at all. I don't know if that's good or bad. My right ankle (my only real ankle) was acting up. It's always something. But you do what you can. I walked several laps, did the rowing machine, the elliptical, and then decided I should stop before I overdid it. That's something many of us have to keep an eye on. Sometimes you feel so strong in the mornings, and then even stronger after a little PT and end up flat on your back in agony by evening, popping pain meds.

Did you find out what "torts" means yet? I saw the picture of the blue ball. Is it sort of semi-flexible?
Keep on keeping on there has to be a reward in this somewhere.

I hope you didn't suffer too much from all your efforts - you've been through so much already. Thanks for the story from the Post. I put in on my Facebook page and I'll link to it from my blog, which I hope to get started soon. My Facebook comment was, "Sometimes, you just want to punch someone." I've heard that chivalry is dead - apparently compassion is too.

Do you think they meant TORQUE? I should ask. I am so confused. And I shouldn't admit that because my therapist told me from here on out I need to know this stuff.
