Nine soldiers killed in one day north of Baghdad

Another reminder that it's not all about Baghdad security...

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Nine U.S. soldiers died in two separate incidents north of Baghdad, the military said Tuesday.

Six soldiers were killed when a bomb exploded near their vehicles during a combat operation Monday in Salahuddin province, the military said in a statement.

Three other soldiers were wounded and transported to an American military hospital for treatment, it said.

In another incident the same day, three more soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb in Diyala province, another statement said. One soldier was wounded.

I don't know who these soldiers were, but it's tearing at me. I can't shake it.

Today I will go have a MacDonald's cheeseburger as I promised a Colonel in Iraq I would. I will write him what it was like. Just so, for a few seconds, he will have a smile on his face.
