A few words about George (with his toy Rudolph)

George is an "assist" dog at Bethesda (he worked at Walter Reed when I was there) and came to stay with me recently for a weekend. He is probably the best therapist I know. He is loving, kind, knows to wait for you on stairs, and doesn't snore. He also keeps his toys in a neat pile on his sleeping bag.

I love him more than anything.

I hope to have him come live with me.

This, by the way, is George smiling. He has a permanent look of sadness until you ask him for help. And then he lights up like a Christmas tree. Good doggie.

Love and laughter are the greatest healers of all. SHMBO (she who must be obeyed) and I have the belief that dogs (and cats) happen. You don't chose them they chose you. May you be chosen.
We lost two of our dog pack this winter and it has made an impact that is far from over. Since Susy (the leader of the pack) has passed to that great rabbit chasing land in the sky we see her ghost everywhere. I suspect she is still guarding us and probably will until we are chosen again. I am anxiously waiting.

George, unfortunately, has passed. It left a gaping hole at Walter Reed, and those of us who loved him (most everyone) will never, ever forget him
